Shepard Fairey had used a photo taken of Obama that he had used to make his now famous poster of "hope" used in the presidential elections. He lied about what image was used to create his poster. He later admitted to have used a photo taken by an AP photographer. They later found out Fairey had destroyed documents that proved he had not used the photo of Obama. Fairey and AP settled the suit for 1.6 million dollars.
